To iTouch Or Not To iTouch...?

I'm in a bit of a dilemma - for the past few weeks now I've been on the fence about upgrading my MP3 player to an iPod iTouch. At the moment I have a Creative Zen player, but the main downside to that at the moment is that it's not compatible with my Mac. I can, however just use the PC to update it so it's not a major problem. The thing that made me really want one was having a play around with my mates at work a couple of weeks ago. I've also had a play around with one a few times in the Apple shop and think they are great. Does anyone else have one? I need convincing to definitely go for one!

If you can cope with the smaller size, then you'll be fine.

I've gone for a 8gb Sony Walkman this year, my Brother has one and the sound quality is amazing (better than both Zen and iPod). I guess it's really whether you want to go for style or sound. If the player resides in your pocket most of the time do you need to have the touch screen? If you like to show it off then the touch definitely looks good.

Mean't to add that I'm not too sure whether the Sony is Mac compatible.

That does seem a problem with mac stuff - Apple have now made the iPod compatible with PCs yet finding other companies that have made their stuff compatible with Macs is hard. If I want an MP3 player that is compatible with my Mac it seems I have to go with iPods.

I got an iPod Touch a few weeks back and I love it. A few things you need to ask yourself though are:

do you mind fingerprints? as i am forever polishing the grubby fngerprints off mine!

do you have access to a free wifi spot or wifi router at home? Without one, the ipod touch is pretty useless for anything else but music without one.

do mind having to get it out of you pocket each time you want to change song/volume? having no real controls you always have to get it out to do anything - a little annoying I find.

are you prepared to want an iphone? since getting a touch, i now want an iphone... im such a sucker!

give us a shout if you need more info!
