Manchester Pride

It's been way to long! I hadn't actually realised it's been almost two weeks since I last added an entry! The main reason is mainly down to being too busy with work. I was going to try and do a post lst weekend. We had a couple of mates over from Leeds for Manchester Pride. It was a great weekend, lots of drinking! A few people I spoke to at work don't do the whole Manchester Pride thing. Listening to their argument I can understand why. Basically, for those who don't know, Canal Street is the main 'gay village' in Manchester. During the Pride weekend the whole thing is cordoned off and the only way you can get in in by buying a wristband which sets you back £10-£18 depending on when you buy it.

There isn't a great difference to Canal Street as opposed to any other night. Fair enough there's a main stage with bands and stuff, but generally you just end up doing what you would do any other night - drinking a pint on the street by the canal. The also have the big parade through Manchester City Centre - and that's free anyway. The bars also tend to bump the prices up and a lot of them tend to stick on an admission fee - or donation to charity as they call it. So my mates argument was that you end up paying about 3 times as much as you would normally do if you were to go out on a normal night out. Fair enough I guess, but I had a cool weekend. It was my 4th Pride this year - I think they are fun!

Natalie Imbruglia - Glorious

Glad she's back - I do like Natalie Imbruglia! Something about her music that I like. It makes good driving music too. This single is released in the next couple of weeks with a singles collection to follow in September. Looking forward to her new album next year!

Back Again!

I got back from Newcastle on Sunday night. Had a really nice time. Was nice to catch up with family. It was also the last time being in my childhood house as my dad is moving on Friday. We had lived there for 15 years - the longest time we've lived anywhere. We've all got to move on though!

In my last post, I mentioned a drug calculations exam that I had to take on Friday. Well, I failed! haha. Only by half a mark!! I have to resit it again which is so annoying!!

I don't feel too good today. I was a bit rough over the weekend. I thought it was just my hayfever, but I think it was a cold - it hasn't shifted yet. I'm gonna lie down for a while :)

Homeward Bound

I ain't had time to update things over the past few days. I've been working since Thursday and I'm not off until Saturday. It's been a bit of a long stretch and it's had me feeling tired when I've came in. Tomorrow and Friday I have to go on a study day. It's all about drug calculations - and knowing my maths I'm going to suck at it big time. Apparently expectations are high and you have to get 97% to pass - HA!! I think I'll have to do a resit.

In other news, I'm heading home on Friday for the first time since September. It's been a while since I was last in Newcastle. I'm quite looking forward to catching up with family and friends. Hopefully the weather will stay nice as I've promised to take my nan and grandad for a run up to Alnwick in Northumberland.

In random news, I was at work on Monday and out of the window overlooks the main hospital enterance. Just before tea, they closed it off to film a scene for Coronation Street. At the time we didn't know what it was all about, but apparently the storyline is about a kid who takes as ectasy tablet. Gail, Sarah and the kid where there, so it's possible. Doubt the kid will die though. That's more of an EastEnders thing to do!
