Yahoo Messenger

When I first started using the internet way way ago - remember Lou? - I used Yahoo Messenger. Simply because most of the forums and groups I signed up to were on Yahoo. Back in the day when Yahoo was great! I stopped using it a while back as most of my contacts transferred over to MSN Messenger. I liked MSN Messenger, but when I got my MacBook in May, the version of MSN for the Mac was pretty basic. I lost a few of the functions. I was chatting to a mate a few nights ago on MSN and he told me the Yahoo Messenger for Mac is much better. It has all the functions of the MSN for PC.

I downloaded it and gave it a go. I have to say I'm pretty impressed. It takes me back to the good old days of Yahoo. If anyone has Yahoo Messenger and they want to chat, then send me a message - malc_79uk - or click the icon in the sidebar.

Santa Has Came To Town!

I went into town yesterday and walked past the town hall, only to find a huge shiny Santa sitting above the door. I guess it had something to do with the turn on of the Christmas lights on Thursday night. I wonder if it's going to stay there. I hope so, it looks cool. One thing I don't understand is why it looks like Zippy from Rainbow!

Pam Ann

I've just booked tickets to go and see Pam Ann in Manchester next year. I came across a clip of her on YouTube a few months ago (below) and more recently have bought the DVD 'Pam Ann - Come Fly With Me'. I haven't laughed as much in ages. Her mix of humour and her sharp tongue are great. I've got row D, which in her terms in in the business class section. Can't wait to see her. Looking forward to it already.

Online Grocery Shopping

I've wanted to try this out for a while now, but people I know have told me stories of food being missing, delayed and substituted. However, with being busy at work and not really having time to go to the supermarket I decided to give it a go and see for myself. I did a brief search to find out which supermarkets deliver to my address. I wasn't impressed that Tesco only offered the service.

I then came across an online only supermarket called Ocado. It's attached to the Waitrose company and reading some reviews no-one had any problems with it. So I gave it a go. The website was very easy to navigate round, I managed to do my weekly shop in about 10 minutes and it also was about £10-£15 cheaper than if I was to actually go to the supermarket. I'm not saying the products were cheaper, but I guess there's no temptation to buy stuff you wouldn't normally get.

I checked out and booked an delivery time of between 9pm-10pm last night. I was a bit worried that they would make me go down to the lobby part of my apartment block to collect it. Previous experience of deliveries have made me do this - especially Ikea - b*stards! Anyway, they guy rang my buzzer and came up in the lift and delivered it right to the door. I'm sure he would have actually brought it into my kitchen too! The good news is that if the products are unavailable, it told me on the website and asked if I wanted to make a substitution there and then. It wasn't until I had unpacked all of the shopping and I realised it was only 8.45pm!

I was very impressed. Doubt I'll go to a supermarket again!
